About Me
Piano lessons take place in my home. I have a Kawai Grand and parents are welcome to attend lessons with their child. School-age students will be given a practice chart and are rewarded for practice times, songs completed and scales memorized. Theory and technique are taught with the assistance of games and worksheets.
Education & Background
Rachel began playing piano at the age of 6. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Lebanon Valley College in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. There she regularly served as a piano accompanist. She went on the teach music in Pennsylvania public schools and private cello and piano lessons as well as play the piano for church services. She moved to Indiana in 2012 and set up a private teaching studio in her home. She continues to teach general music to groups of homeschool students grades K-4 and perform on cello or piano at weddings.
What I Teach
Classical repertoire, theory, technique, church music, and improvisation/ear-training. I use a variety of materials for instruction depending on the personality, ability and age of the student.
